My name is Jessica. I’m from Sweden. I currently live in a small ski town in Colorado called Steamboat Springs. My journey to the where I am today has been so fun and filled with adventures and experiences that I will never forget.

A long story short: I came to the States in 2007 and worked as an au-pair for a year. Best trip I have ever made! Met so many people, some that are still in my life today. The most important one of them is Jared. Meet on 4th of July 2009, did the long distance thing for a while, until I decided to move to Denver in 2009 and get my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.  In October 2012, we got married. In February 2013 I got my Green Card and is now a Permanent Residence in the U.S.

In February 2012 I was finally done with school and got to move to Steamboat Springs, which is by far one of the best places on earth. I love the life style here and it has definitely changed me in a positive way and my outlook on life. I have become a better person and I truly enjoy the beauty that the nature and the mountains has to offer.

Follow me on my every day journey as a foreigner living in a place far away from Sweden. I will share cultural differences that I stumble upon in my every day life, was well as all kinds of other things that I encounter that are somehow linked to my life in the U.S. It’s kinda funny thought, because sometimes it feels like I have gotten so accustomed to the way of life here that I don’t even think about certain things as being a cultural difference anymore.
